Dry Time Tester

The Dry Time Tester is an automatic test machine used to measure the drying time of ink on a rotating drum. A traversing stylus records ink lines on a substrate attached to the outside of the drum. The lines transfer onto the substrate as long as the ink remains wet. No transfer occurs once the ink is dry. The operators determines the drying time, simply by counting lines on the substrate.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This instrument measures the drying time of small printed samples at ambient temperature for an extended time period. This instrument is available in two different sizes which allows for two different test duration options.

The stylus on the Dry Time Tester is specially designed to move laterally as the drum rotates, thus generating a new line for each complete drum rotation. Once the stylus reaches the edge of the rotating drum, it automatically reverses and generates lines in between the existing ones. This means that the drying time can be determined regardless of the position or direction of the stylus at the start of the test.

Work Area:

DTT-100 Drum measures 12 inches wide x 100 inch circumference.
DTT-60 Drum measures 12 inches wide x 60-inch circumference.

Stylus speed: Variable from 0.1 – 1.0 inch per hour
Drum speed: Variable from 1.0 – 7.0 rotations per hour
