After coating, immediately push the comb gauge perpendicularly into the leveling film, then remove the comb gauge from the coating. The wet film thickness will fall between the clearance of the shortest tab that is wet and the clearance of the next shortest dry tab. Using the same method, retest twice to get a representative result within certain range.
After application, clean and dry the wet film thickness gauge, put it into the leather case. If found tab damage and wear, modify tooth profile or replace the gauge.
